Register of ICT service providers – new reporting obligation under DORA

Progressing digitisation means that financial institutions are increasingly dependent on ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) service providers for their proper operation). These are external companies providing IT solutions for processing, collecting, and transmitting information electronically.

Effective management of the operational risk and improvement of the digital resilience of financial sector players is becoming crucial. Hence, the European Commission, with the introduction of the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) to the financial sector, requires a register of ICT service providers and imposes the reporting  obligations.

Together with a team of experts from FINGO System, we looked at the regulatory requirements for a register of ICT service providers.
